What does Naturals Plus mean on your yarn content labels?
The fiber was ethically sourced locally from a Michigan or Indiana farm. Naturals Plus yarns are processed in our Hoof-to-Hanger Fiber Mill from washing the fiber to skeining the yarn.
What do your yarn bases consist of?
We offer a diverse selection of fiber blends and composition to include a variety of sheep, alpaca, and yak breeds. The various fibers are blended with ingredients such as tencel, cashmere, silk, and nylon. Several colorways and naturals are available in 100% wool.
What are your methods of dyeing yarn?
Our artisanal yarns are all individually hand dyed – a batch at a time. Elegant Nature’s Splendor, is naturally dyed with plants, insects, or minerals. The beautifully unique Hoof-to-Hanger Fiber Mill yarns are designed with traditional acid dyes.
What are your most popular yarns?
Trending now are various colorways in 100% merino wool worsted weight, blends of superwash merino wool, tencel or cashmere, and nylon in fingering weight, yak blended with superwash merino wool and silk in fingering weight. Our naturally dyed yarns in worsted and fingering weight continue to surge in popularity.
I love your yarn! We have a small farm with alpaca and sheep fiber from our last shearing – are you able to process our animal’s fibers at your mill?
Yes, along with processing fibers for our retail shop, The Sandpiper, we routinely process fibers for farmers in our mill. We welcome fiber enthusiasts who want to support sustainable practices and small, local businesses!
